GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED TO GIVE PACKAGE TO AFFECTED VICTIMS BY THE AKOSOMBO DAM SPILLAGE-PREZ —- AKUFO ADDO

President Nana Akufo Addo has assured the government commitment to give a package for all affected victims despite acknowledged the devastating impact of the situation.

The Chief Executive Officer of Engineers & Planners and Dzata Cement Ibrahim Mahama led a team on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 with several trucks of assorted relief items and his team donated to the victims of the Akosombo dam spillage-induced flooding in the Volta Region.
The donation has been described as one of the “biggest” so far since the start of the devastation that has afflicted the communities along the Volta River.
The items meant to cater for about twenty thousand households included 20,000 bags of 5kg rice, 24,000 cans of Mackerel, 12,000 bottles of cooking oil, 400 packs of water and 1,000 pieces of student mattresses.
The District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Divine Osborn k Fenu who received the items on behalf of the affected communities expressed gratitude to the business mogul, saying his generosity would put smiles on the faces of the flood victims.
Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa assured Mahama that the items would be distributed equitably to all the affected communities.
Speaking to the chiefs and the traditional leaders from the Oti region, President Akufo Addo mentions the ongoing preparations for relief items aimed at supporting victims.
