The government has assured manufacturers and other stakeholders in Ghana’s industrial sector that measures are being taken to address challenges with electricity supply affecting production and business operations.
The intermittent power supply has disrupted industrial activities, with manufacturers calling for a more reliable and stable electricity supply to sustain production, protect jobs and support business growth.
Deputy Minister for Trade, Samson Ahi, said the government is working to resolve the challenges confronting local industries and improve the reliability of power supply to businesses.
He said the government recognises the impact of power supply challenges on manufacturers and is taking steps to minimise disruptions and create a more supportive environment for industrial production.
The assurance comes amid concerns from businesses over the impact of unreliable electricity on production costs, productivity and competitiveness.
Manufacturers have consistently emphasised that dependable power is critical to sustaining their operations, improving productivity and strengthening Ghana’s industrial base.
