The Ghana Premier League title race heats up as Bibiani Gold Stars (56 points) host Asante Kotoko (54 points) on Matchday 32 at Dun’s Park, Bibiani, on Sunday, May 25, 2025. With only three games left in the 2024/25 season, this showdown could prove decisive.
Asante Kotoko’s coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has called Gold Stars one of the league’s finest teams, emphasizing the challenge of facing them at home.
“The approach will be very serious, but we should admit it; we are going to meet one of the best teams in the league on Sunday. They are very good, and they have more advantage by playing at home, so it doubles our task in meeting them, so we are preparing towards that.” Zito said I pre-match.
Gold Stars have been solid at Dun’s Park, with just one loss in their last six home games across recent seasons, while Kotoko’s away form has been shaky, with no wins in their last eight road matches (DLDDDLLD).
Under Zito, Kotoko are unbeaten in their last three league outings (WWD), including a 4-1 rout of Dreams FC, driven by forwards Albert Amoah (9 goals) and Kwame Opoku (9 goals).
Kotoko have historically dominated this fixture, unbeaten in six meetings since 2021 (W3, D3), including a 2-0 victory in December 2024. Still, Gold Stars’ home form and league-leading position make them formidable.
Referee Robert Musey will officiate the 15:00 GMT kickoff.
