Veteran Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has shared a surprising and humorous story about his past, revealing how a dramatic encounter with faith completely changed his life.
In a candid testimony, the respected actor disclosed that before becoming a born-again Christian, he struggled with chasing women — to the extent of staging fake illnesses just to get closer to a nurse he had a crush on.
According to him, he would deliberately pretend to be sick so he could be admitted to the hospital where the nurse worked. His goal? Simply to spend time around her. He even went as far as repeatedly asking her to give him injections, despite there being no medical need.
“I used to beg her, ‘Please give me an injection,’” he recounted humorously. “She would say it wasn’t time, but I kept insisting.”
Bob-Manuel admitted that he imagined himself being hospitalized as many as four times a month, all in an attempt to catch her attention. Eventually, the nurse caught on to his antics and stopped attending to him altogether.
While the story drew laughter from many who heard it, the actor made it clear that it reflects a chapter of his life he has since left behind. He expressed deep gratitude to God for what he described as a divine intervention.
“I thank God every day for changing my life and calling me to serve Him. I am now a born-again Christian,” he said. “God arrested me and set me on a better path.”
Now known not just for his legendary roles on screen but also for his faith, Bob-Manuel’s testimony has sparked conversations about personal growth, redemption, and transformation.
From pretending to be sick for love to preaching about spiritual awakening, the actor’s journey is proof that change is always possible — and sometimes, even the most dramatic stories can lead to a powerful testimony.
