GNFS repairs faulty hydrant at Parliament following fire incident

The Ghana National Fire Service is currently working to repair a faulty fire hydrant at Parliament to ensure quick access to water in case of future emergencies.

This action follows a fire that broke out in the Job 600 building on Tuesday, August 27, which led to the evacuation of staff.

The fire, originating in a second-floor storage room, was brought under control by four fire tenders. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, although the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Greater Accra Regional Commander of the Ghana Fire Service, ACFO 1 Roberta Aggrey Ghanson, informed the media that the malfunctioning hydrant impeded efficient water distribution during the incident.

She assured that repairs are underway and that the Fire Service is taking proactive measures to enhance safety and prevent similar incidents in the future.
