Global Policymakers to Chart Bold Economic Path at 2025 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings

From April 21 to 25, 2025, Washington, D.C. will become the center of global economic dialogue as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank host their annual Spring Meetings. Policymakers, financial leaders, and development experts from across the globe will convene to explore bold strategies aimed at rebuilding resilience, expanding policy space, and unlocking new avenues for sustainable growth.

The meetings are expected to draw delegates from all 191 IMF member countries, reaffirming the global commitment to collaborative solutions in an increasingly complex economic landscape.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva emphasized the significance of this year’s gathering. In a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, she stated:

“Looking forward to gathering our 191 members at our HQ in Washington, D.C., discussing ways to boost growth and productivity around the world, and finding solutions to economic challenges impacting us all. Join us for our 2025 Spring Meetings from April 21 to 25.”

The agenda will feature high-level dialogues and flagship sessions including the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) and the Development Committee Meeting. Participants will also engage in a wide range of forums addressing international development, global economic trends, debt sustainability, climate finance, and evolving financial markets.

This year’s Spring Meetings arrive at a critical moment, as nations grapple with persistent inflation, mounting debt, climate-related shocks, and the need to mobilize financing for development. The event promises to shape key policy directions and foster international cooperation to drive inclusive, long-term economic recovery.
