Fohad Agbenyadzi, Eastern Regional Deputy Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, the National Prayer Director for Aglow International Ghana, of hypocrisy following her recent remarks on the state of Ghana.
At Aglow’s mid-year thanksgiving service held at the State House, Madam Afenyi-Dadzie highlighted that despite the numerous challenges Ghana faces, God has been good to the country.
She acknowledged issues such as economic difficulties, power outages, water shortages, and weather problems but emphasized that God’s mercy has kept the nation peaceful and stable.
However, Fohad Agbenyadzi criticized her comments, calling them hypocritical. He argued that such statements contribute to the growing disillusionment and resentment among the youth towards the church.
Speaking on Ahotor FM‘s ‘Simpieso‘ show with host Emmanuel Martey, Fohad Agbenyadzi expressed that Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie’s remarks do a great disservice to the country.
He suggested that her focus should be on addressing the real struggles Ghanaians face, rather than making what he sees as dismissive statements about their hardships.

Also appearing on the show, former NDC Chairman for the Tema West Constituency and member of the NDC’s National Communications Team, Ben Doe, supported Agbenyadzi’s views.
He urged Afenyi-Dadzie to dedicate her efforts to praying for the youth, who are suffering due to the nation’s hardships, and to steer clear of making politically charged statements.
