Ghanaian left back Gideon Mensah has extended his contract with French club AUXERRE FC following successul negotiation. Gideon’s contract was set to expire in 2025 but the one year extension will see him stay at the club till 2026.
Since joining the club in 2022 from Red Bull Salzburg, Mensah has established himself as the first choice left back. His ability to surge forward and defend has endeared him to fans of Auxerre.
Last season the 26 year old played an instrumental role in Auxerre’s return to Ligue 1, Gideon featured more than 23 times and registered two assist in the 2023/2024 season. Disappointingly He has featured once this season.
Coach Otto Addo is likely to include Gideon Mensah in his Black Stars squad for the 2025 African Cup Nations double header against Sudan this month.
