
The National Identification Authority (NIA) is urging Ghanaians to obtain their National Identification Cards, now available in various districts and regions. New registrants can visit NIA offices for same-day processing, thanks to a streamlined system and cleared backlogs. To facilitate registration, 1000 blank cards have been distributed to districts and regions for new registrations, updates, and replacements.
Registration Details
– Eligibility: All Ghanaian citizens, including those living abroad, and legally resident foreigners in Ghana.
– Required Documents: Birth Certificate, valid Passport, Certificate of Acquired Citizenship, or Naturalization Document.
– Vouching Process: If you lack mandatory documents, a relative or two authorized persons can vouch for you.
Fees and Charges
– Free Registration: Available at NIA District Offices and some Regional Offices for first-time Ghanaian registrants.
– Premium Center Registration: A fee applies for institutions, households, or groups.
– Replacement and Update Fees: Vary depending on location and service type.
