Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin is urging his fellow politicians to exercise caution when in power, reminding them that their time in office is temporary.
He cautioned against mistreating opponents, stating that doing so will ultimately prove counterproductive.
Afenyo-Markin’s comments were directed at the current National Democratic Congress government, led by President John Mahama, and their introduction of Operation Recover All Loot.
He warned that if the operation fails to deliver within three months, Ghanaians will express their dissatisfaction.
The Minority Leader also criticized politicians for prioritizing revenge over governance, questioning how long they can sustain this approach.
He emphasized that demonizing opponents might bring temporary popularity but ultimately yields no meaningful results.
Afenyo-Markin’s stance aligns with his previous advocacy for upholding constitutional principles and protecting public servants from arbitrary dismissal.
