Ghanaian Beverage Producers Urged to Expand into African Markets — GTA CEO Calls for Regional Growth

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has called on local beverage manufacturers to explore opportunities beyond Ghana’s borders and expand into other African markets.

Speaking at an award ceremony honoring outstanding players in the beverage industry held in Accra, Ms. Houadjeto emphasized the potential of Ghanaian beverage products to thrive on the continental stage, particularly under the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The GTA CEO noted that such expansion would not only increase revenue for local companies but also enhance Ghana’s brand identity across Africa through its indigenous drinks and culinary heritage.

She further highlighted that Ghana’s growing reputation as a tourism and cultural destination offers beverage producers a strategic platform to showcase their products to both local consumers and international visitors.
