The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has reported a significant improvement in water turbidity levels in the Central and Western Regions, raising hopes for more efficient water treatment and potential cost savings for consumers.
Speaking to the media, GWCL’s Chief Communications Officer, Stanley Martey, stated that if turbidity levels continue to decline, the company will gradually resume alum purification, a key process in water treatment.
He noted that reduced turbidity means less use of chemicals, which could ultimately lead to lower operational costs and possibly reflect in more affordable water tariffs for consumers.
