The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with the International Affairs Secretariat, is now accepting event proposals for the 2025 edition of December in GH—Ghana’s flagship holiday tourism initiative celebrating the country’s rich culture, heritage, and dynamic entertainment scene.
Running from December 1, 2025, to January 3, 2026, December in GH promises another unforgettable season of festivities that spotlight Ghana as the ultimate destination for cultural experiences and homecoming celebrations.
Now a key component of the Black Star Experience, this annual initiative continues to attract thousands of visitors from the diaspora and beyond. It features a month-long calendar filled with events in music, fashion, art, culture, and nightlife—providing an opportunity for both locals and returning Ghanaians to celebrate the spirit of connection and creativity.
“December in GH is more than just a festive season—it’s a global movement that shines a light on Ghana’s vibrant culture and warm hospitality,” said Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority. “We are building momentum for what promises to be our biggest December yet and welcome proposals that can help elevate Ghana as a global hub for heritage and entertainment tourism.”
Event organisers, promoters, and cultural curators are invited to submit proposals for events scheduled between December 1, 2025, and January 3, 2026. The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 16, 2025.
Annabelle McKenzie, Director of the International Affairs Secretariat, emphasized the importance of collaboration in shaping this year’s experience:
