The Deputy head, of Corporate Affairs Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi has disclosed that the Tourism as part of December in Gh is going to have a lot of events.
Speaking with Obaapa Janee on Ahotor mmre last Friday, 10th November 2023, he revealed the events which will take place in December, some of the events have already taken place at the beginning of November and they will continue until December end.
According to him, ‘December in GH calendar of Events was officially uncovered on August 10, 2023, with the first-round Calendar of Events at the Accra Tourist Information Centre by the Ghana Tourist Information Centre in by the Ghana Tourism Authority(GTA).
The Beyond the Return Secretariat‘s Director, Annabelle Mckenzie, outlined the vigorous event selection process, with 91 endorsed from 128 proposals aligned with the seven pillars of the BTr initiative.
He added that the event is aligned with BTR’s seven pillars, focusing on Experience, Celebration, Investment, Branding, Giving Back, Diaspora Pathways, and Pan-Afriacan, so the steering committee check through Events Proposals so if your events fall under any of the Pillars, it will be selected.
The second round of event submissions was open until September 1, 2023, providing an opportunity for organizers to submit proposals across the country.
Also this year, we are going to have about 180 plus events and have close to 5 events in a day all over the country.
December in Gh is an initiative which was launched by the Ghana Tourism Authority to promote the various events and programs that will be happening in the country.
Ghana over the years has recalled an increase in Tourists moving to visit friends and families while they enjoy remarkable memories filled with concerts, fashion shows, Traditional cultural festivals and much more across multiple regions of Ghana before and after the introduction of the year of Return and Beyond the Return.
