The Ghana Taekwondo Federation successfully held its 2026 Elective Congress on Saturday, July 18, at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium. The gathering was convened to chart a new course for the federation, focusing on the continued development and promotion of Taekwondo across the country.
In a keenly contested election, Frederick Lartey Otu emerged victorious and was elected as the new President of the federation.
For the position of Vice President, Maxwell Theodore Alornyo secured a strong victory with 14 votes, ahead of Hamidu Abdel-Fatao who polled 10 votes and Martin Prince Oppan with 3 votes.
In the race for the two available Member positions, Kankpenuba Peter N. Wisdom and Simon Koku Gluikpor both polled the highest with 16 votes each to claim the seats. They were followed by Stephen Amegashie Jnr with 12 votes and Terrance Asare with 10 votes.
The newly elected executives are expected to provide fresh leadership and drive initiatives aimed at growing the sport at all levels in Ghana.
