During a campaign event in Lugni, a suburb of Wulensi, John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emphasized that Ghana cannot afford to experiment with leadership at this critical juncture.
He asserted that only a leader with proven experience can effectively steer the country toward recovery.
John Mahama criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming they have exhausted their ideas and that re-electing them would be detrimental to the citizens of Ghana.
He stated, “After what we’ve endured over the past eight years under NPP governance, we simply do not have the luxury for experimentation. We need a leader with the experience to reset our nation.”
In his remarks, Mr. Mahama held President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia accountable for the nation’s economic troubles.
He alleged that their administration has mishandled the economy and, in a bid to avoid accountability, is attempting to impose Bawumia on the electorate.
“Nana Akufo-Addo is trying to force his vice president upon Ghanaians because he fears the consequences of accountability. Who is he to dictate who should succeed him?” John Mahama challenged.
He concluded with a resolute declaration: “The NDC is poised to win the 2024 elections, and we will ensure that anyone who has misappropriated state funds or assets will face the consequences.”
John Mahama’s speech underscored his commitment to transparency and accountability, framing the upcoming election as a pivotal moment for the future of Ghana.
