Ghana Lacks A Single Standard Stadium Due To Poor Maintenance – Former NDC Chairman
Former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress ,Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has expressed his concerns about the Ghana’s state of sports infrastructure particularly the national stadiums.
Speaking to the current banned from Confederation of African Football for Ghana to look for a new venue for their 2025 Afcon qualifier games , Dr Ofosu Ampofo emphasized his worry that Ghana under the New Patriotic Party can not boost of a single standard stadium for international competitions that has called for the CAF ban.
Many of the existing stadiums such as the Accra Sports Stadium and the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium have deteriorated due to insufficient upkeep and needs urgent attention to savage the situation.
Dr Ofosu Ampofo has urged that the next NDC government will prioritize regular maintenance of sports facilities and implement a strategic plan to rehabilitate these stadiums to meet international standards.
