Ghana is not psychologically strong for the pandemic: Dr Jehu Appiah

The former General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) and a member of the National Democratic  Congress (NDC) Covid 19 team stated that, the psychology given Ghanaians about the lifting of the ban has increased movement, and they are therefore not showing much concern about the pandemic, insisting that Ghanaians are not psychological strong and ready if there should be a worse situation than the current situation.

The current data stands at 2, 074 positive cases with how many fatalities 17 with recoveries of 212.

The lifting of the ban he said, was unexpected by majority of Ghanaians due to the rising data of the covid-19 infections.

He challenged that the consideration for the lifting of the ban was not based on science and data, but to their own gains.

The former General Secretary said even though the ban has been lifted the government should ensure security enforcement of producing quality and standard nose mask by Ghanaian pharmaceutical industries and also should be distributed freely to those who cannot afford. Security agencies, can then deal with those without mask moving in town.

He then said the government should provide all the necessary testing machine to enable more testing in the communities.
