Ghana is extremely poor – Amadu Sorogho

Ghana has really experiencing extreme poverty as a result of mismanagement of the economy under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo for the past seven years without any positive indicators of growth going into the future.

The leadership in the affairs of the country’s governance lacks foresight and direction in managing the spillage from the Akosombo dam.

He believes that the dam is a strategic national asset and the president and his team knew the danger ahead of the spillage but refused to carry out the hydro-technical assessment to carry out the spillage on time to save lives and properties.

Hon. Amadu Sorogho former member of Madina discloses this on Adekye Mu Nsem’s morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM in Accra hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu.

He is of the view that the engineers at VRA and his counterparts working at Bari Dam always collaborate to manage the spillage all the time to protect lives and property.
He is of the view that he is disappointed in the leadership of the president in the past seven years the government has not made any due diligence to dredge the Volta lake which can serve as a reservoir from any spillage.

He blames the president and his team for not being proactive in carrying out the proper technical and professional decisions to set aside logistics as the VRA prepared to spill the water from the dam.
He opined that the failure of VRA to inflict this pain on the people of this country through the spillage; must come again to explain where this professional negligence.

Hon. Amadu Sorogho noted that deception and empty political promises from the president opined that if care is not taken, this disaster will serve as an avenue for another political corruption.
