Ghana Federation of Labour Congratulates John Mahama on Election Victory

The Ghana Federation of Labour(GFL) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to John Dramani Mahama on his victory in the 2024 general elections, hailing it as a reflection of the Ghanaian people’s confidence in his bold vision for an inclusive and prosperous future.

The GFL also praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, for displaying statesmanship by conceding defeat even before the Electoral Commission’s official declaration. This, they noted, demonstrated a commitment to peace and democracy in Ghana.

Commendation for Visionary Policies
The GFL expressed enthusiasm about the transformative initiatives outlined in John Mahama’s campaign manifesto.

Among these are the 24-Hour Economy Policy, designed to maximize productivity and boost economic growth; the Stress-Free Fees Policy, aimed at easing financial burdens on students and families; and comprehensive plans to expand entrepreneurship and education opportunities.

According to the GFL, these policies directly address some of the nation’s most pressing challenges, including youth unemployment, limited access to quality education, and the need for widespread economic empowerment.

Commitment to Collaboration
As a representative body for workers nationwide, the GFL pledged its readiness to collaborate with the president-elect and his administration to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives.

The federation underscored its commitment to working together to create a fair and prosperous Ghana for all citizens.

A Testament to Leadership
In a letter signed by its President, Caleb Nartey, and Secretary-General, Abraham Koomson, the GFL described John Mahama’s triumph as a testament to his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Ghanaian people.

“The Ghana Federation of Labour will support you and your administration in every way necessary to enable you to deliver on your promise of building a better Ghana for all,” the letter stated.

Looking Ahead
The GFL concluded by urging all Ghanaians to unite and support the incoming government as it works to address the country’s challenges and fulfill its promises of development and prosperity.

The association’s statement reflects widespread optimism and a collective determination to ensure that the next chapter of Ghana’s leadership is marked by progress, inclusivity, and shared success.
