Ghana Coach Otto Addo Vows to Beat Nigeria in Unity Cup
Black Stars coach Otto Addo has vowed to do everything possible to lead Ghana to victory over Nigeria in their Unity Cup match at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday.
Despite resting key players, Addo emphasized the importance of the game, citing the historic rivalry between the two nations.
“We really want to beat them this time,” Addo said, referring to their last friendly match. “I know about the rivalry, so games like these are very important and a win here can get the fans behind us.”
Addo recognizes the significance of the match in boosting team morale and fan support.
The Ghana coach stressed that although the match is officially a friendly, it carries much more weight due to the intense rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria.
“It’s a friendly but not really a friendly,” he said. “We want our people to be proud of us, as it’s always about who has a better team.”
The winner of the match will face either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the final on May 31.
With pride and bragging rights on the line, Addo has urged his team to do everything possible to emerge victorious.
