GHALCA chairman aspirant Isaac Komson to introduce insurance policy for clubs

A candidate for the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairmanship, Isaac Koomson, has unveiled an initiative aimed at protecting the welfare of club owners and administrators throughout the nation.

Explaining his policies on radio, the Aduana FC management member stressed the urgent need for an insurance policy specifically designed for individuals involved in club management.

He pointed out the inherent risks associated with overseeing football clubs, especially in the Ghana Premier League and Division One, where extensive travel is common and often perilous due to challenging road conditions and long distances.

Koomson’s initiative aims to bring peace of mind to club administrators, ensuring they have the necessary support to navigate the uncertainties of their roles in the sport.

“I will introduce an insurance policy for club owners and club administrators. Club administration involves constant travel across the country. Accidents can happen, someone can get sick, or even die,” Koomson said on Asempa FM.

“I will bring an award scheme called GHALCA Gala Night to reward excellence after the season comes to an end. It will bring everyone from the president to the last person to resolve all issues.” he said.

Koomson has served as vice chairman of GHALCA under Alhaji Raji between 2012 and 2016. He also played the role as the chairman of the Safety and Security Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
