Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has officially filed his nomination to contest for a position on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee.
The elections, scheduled for March 2025, could mark a significant milestone in Okraku’s administrative career as he is running unopposed to represent the WAFU Zone B.
This development follows an agreement reached in March 2021 when Mr Okraku withdrew his bid for the CAF Executive Committee position. This decision allowed Djibril Hamidou, President of the Niger Football Association, to stand as the sole candidate from the zone and secure the position.
Hamidou is now reportedly vying for a spot on the FIFA Council, creating an opportunity for Okraku to secure the CAF role.
As a result of the agreement, Mr Hamidou secured a seat on the CAF Executive Committee, while Kurt Okraku took over leadership of the regional body.
