GFA Presents Women’s FA Cup and League Trophies to Sports Minister
The Ghana Football Association’s Domestic Leagues Committee Chairman, Dr. Tony Aubynn, led a delegation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports to present the Women’s FA Cup and Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League trophies to Sector Minister Hon. Kofi Iddi Adams.
Minister Adams commended the GFA’s leadership for advancing the women’s game, stating, “It’s great to have you here today… We have to do it our way and bring the love to the women’s game.” He acknowledged the impressive strides made by women in sports.
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting women’s football and stressed the need for better marketing, saying, “We must find a way… to really promote women’s football.”
The trophy presentation precedes the Women’s Football Festival on May 18 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, featuring:
Women’s FA Cup final: Jojina Ladies vs. Faith Ladies (3:00 pm)
Women’s Premier League final: Ampem Darkoa Ladies vs. Police Ladies (6:00 pm)
The event aims to attract more attention to women’s football, showcasing Ghana’s talented female players and promoting the growth of the women’s game.
