GFA congress approved the proposed nomination fee for the presidential elections.

The newly proposed nomination fee of Gh50,000 for the presidential election has been approved by the Ghana Football Association’s 29th Ordinary Congress.

During the previous elections in 2019, the nomination fee was gh5000 compared to the projected fee of Gh50,000 has been a notable increase of 900%.

The GFA cited the increased costs of organizing the elections, such as logistics, transportation, and lodging, as justification for the requirement for the fee increase.

Kurt Okraku, the president of the GFA, has also declared his intention to run for the office again.

Former vice-president of the GFA ,George Afriyie as well as Former western regional RFA chairman Kojo Yankah are all keen contenders to unseat the current GFA president Kurt Okraku.

New executive council members will be chosen during the GFA elections, which comes off in October.
