GFA Boosts Ghanaman Soccer Centre with New Natural Grass Pitches
The Ghana Football Association has begun constructing two natural grass pitches at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, supported by FIFA Forward funds.
The new pitches will bring the total number of natural grass surfaces to three, complementing the existing two AstroTurf pitches.
This expansion will enhance the centre’s training capacity and functionality, providing a versatile and professional environment for national teams, local clubs, and regional football programs.
The GFA aims to transform the Ghanaman Soccer Centre into a hub of excellence for football training, competitions, and talent development in West Africa.
This aligns with the association’s broader infrastructure agenda under the leadership of President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.
The construction of the new pitches is part of the GFA’s ongoing modernization efforts, which include the installation of floodlights on the AstroTurf, procurement of vehicles for Division One League and Regional Football Associations, and plans to establish a 40-bed accommodation facility at the centre.
The FIFA Forward Programme is instrumental in strengthening Ghana’s football foundation and building a robust infrastructure pipeline.
The collaboration between FIFA and the GFA continues to yield positive results, enhancing the country’s football landscape.
The GFA reaffirms its commitment to fostering growth, nurturing talent, and raising football standards across all levels in Ghana.
The upgraded Ghanaman Soccer Centre will play a pivotal role in developing Ghanaian football, providing world-class facilities for players and coaches.
