The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a major nationwide recruitment exercise aimed at hiring 19,725 trained teachers to address staffing gaps and strengthen the country’s educational workforce.
In an official statement issued on Monday, November 10, 2025, the GES confirmed that it has received financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to commence the recruitment process.
According to the announcement, the exercise will cover 2,247 teachers from the 2022 backlog as well as an additional 17,478 teachers who completed their training in 2023.
The online application portal — https://www.gespromotions.com — will open for submissions on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
Applicants are advised to complete and submit their applications no later than Friday, November 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
In a strong public advisory, the GES stressed that the recruitment process is completely transparent and free of charge. The Service cautioned prospective applicants to beware of fraudsters or individuals claiming to offer assistance in exchange for money, warning that any such transactions are at the applicant’s own risk.
The statement was signed by Ms. Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, Director of the Human Resource Management Directorate, on behalf of the Acting Director-General of GES.
This large-scale recruitment drive represents a significant step toward resolving teacher shortages and advancing the government’s commitment to job creation within the education sector. It is expected to inject thousands of qualified educators into public schools across Ghana, improving teaching quality and learning outcomes nationwide.
