GEPA to support 500 SMEs for Ghana Export Expo 2026

The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) has announced plans to support 500 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the Ghana Export Expo (GEXPO) 2026, in a move aimed at expanding Ghana’s export base and creating new market opportunities for locally manufactured products.

The expo is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 22, 2026, at the Black Star Square in Accra. GEPA Chief Executive Officer, Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur, announced the initiative at a briefing, explaining that the Authority would provide the necessary support to enable participating businesses to showcase their products and explore opportunities to access new markets.

Creating market opportunities for local businesses

The initiative is expected to connect Ghanaian businesses with potential buyers, investors and other stakeholders from both local and international markets.

Through their participation, the selected SMEs will have an opportunity to increase the visibility of their products, establish business relationships and explore potential partnerships that could support their growth.

GEPA’s support is also expected to strengthen the promotion of Made-in-Ghana products and position local businesses to take advantage of opportunities in international trade.

GEXPO reflects Ghana’s readiness for business

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has described GEXPO 2026 as a clear signal of Ghana’s readiness for business.

He said the event reflects broader efforts to reset the economy and operationalise the government’s 24-hour economy policy, which seeks to improve productivity, expand commercial activity and ensure the continuous availability of goods and services.

The expo is expected to bring together local and international exhibitors, investors, buyers and members of the public to explore Ghana’s export potential and identify new business opportunities.

Boosting non-traditional exports

GEXPO 2026 forms part of broader efforts to support local enterprises, diversify Ghana’s export base and increase the contribution of non-traditional exports to the economy.

By supporting 500 SMEs to participate, GEPA aims to give more local businesses the opportunity to showcase their products, connect with potential buyers and explore pathways to expand beyond the domestic market.
