Former Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie has thrown a scathing jibe at FA president Kurt Edwin Okraku.
His comments followed Ghana’s non-fulfilled itch to appear in Morocco for the African Cup of Nations in 2025 via a mortified qualifying campaign, – making Ghana miss out on the tournament for the first time in two decades.
Expressing his views on the Kurt-led leadership at the Association, the 2019 GFA presidential contestant opined in a radio interview that his compatriot lacks leadership acumen asserting that his way of running the FA doesn’t depict someone with a high-level University certificate.
“Kurt doesn’t look like a Liverpool University Graduate. A student from Effiakuma can do better than what he’s doing”- he said.
The former GFA ExCo member further condemns the leadership of Kurt Okraku for what he describes as a “trial and error” approach to the national team’s coaching decisions appointing and sacking five different managers in the last five years.
He believes Kurt who has for a long time come under heavy criticism should resign to save Ghana football.
Ghana could not pick a single win in six games for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers meeting opposition from Sudan, Angola and Niger.
