A co-convener of the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF), Akunu Dake has called on the incoming government to hold the National Stakeholders Conference for the cultural and creative industries it stated in its manifesto.
Speaking at a Stakeholders Dialogue organized by the GCF, Mr Dake said, “GCF has to engage the new government all the time for them to know and support the Culture Forum.”
The President of the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB), Prof Abeku Blankson indicated that AUCB will develop a strong media advocacy plan for the Ghana Culture Forum.
The Chairman of the Forum, Nana Otuo Owoahene Acheampong who is also Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture (NCC) spoke about the role of the GCF as a civil society organisation in the culture and creative industries in Ghana.
The General Secretary of the Forum, Madam Edwina Assan gave a presentation on the work of the GCF over the past year.
Present at the Dialogue were vetefilmmakeraker and founder of the Bisa Abrewa Museum, Kwaw Ansah; music legend Gyedu Blay Ambolley and playwright, Chief Moomen. Others included fashion designer Bee Arthur, and film stars Akofa Edjeani and Oscar Provencal.
A movie produced by the Bisa Abrewa Museum was screened as part of the activities at the Stakeholders Dialogue.
The GCF is a civil society organisation made up of associations, organisations and individuals in the cultural and creative industries. It was established in 2012.
