Fury vs Chisora: Gypsy King retains title in a one-sided bout

British boxer Tyson Fury won his third fight against Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Saturday night to successfully defend the WBC heavyweight championship title. The referee stopped the fight at 2:51 in the 10th round of the fight as Fury remains undefeated in his professional boxing career.

Chisora, who has now lost to Fury three times, never landed a punch of consequence but absorbed plenty of such shots from “The Gypsy King” in a bout that looked like it should have been stopped much sooner.

Chisora’s trademark toughness was on display throughout in what amounted to a tune-up bout for Fury, who is in talks to meet Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship in Saudi Arabia next year.

The 34-year-old stayed on course for a unification showdown with reigning IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA holder Oleksandr Usyk, who was ringside at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, after humbling Chisora into a 10th-round stoppage.

The 34-year-old should now get his crack at Ukrainian Usyk, and a shot at becoming the first undisputed world heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis, sometime in the spring.
