Multiple award-winning Nigerian actress, Eniola Badmus, has shared a heartfelt account of her transformation — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally — as she reflected on life before and after her weight loss.
The celebrated actress opened up about how she was constantly rejected by men during her plus-size days, revealing the pain of being judged solely by her appearance.
“Many spoke ill of me, saying I was too fat, that I didn’t deserve love, that no man would ever want me. It hurt… more than words could ever describe. I would cry myself to sleep, wondering why my body was such a crime in their eyes,” she recalled.
Determined to reclaim her happiness, Eniola began her journey to self-love and transformation. Starting with rigorous workouts that often felt insurmountable, she eventually decided to undergo surgery — a choice she proudly stands by today.
“That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter — not just in my body, but in my mind and soul,” she said.
Now, she reveals the irony of being sought after by the same men who once turned her away.
“The same men who once mocked me, who once said I wasn’t ‘worthy,’ are all over my DMs. They admire me now, they desire me now. But the truth is, I don’t live for their validation anymore. I love myself, and that’s all that truly matters.”
Eniola left a powerful message for others battling with self-esteem and body image: “Do what makes YOU happy. Don’t change for the world; change for yourself. Because, in the end, your happiness is the only thing that truly matters.”
