Frimpong Manso Urges Benjamin Asare to Maintain Momentum

Former Ghana international Frimpong Manso has congratulated Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare on his impressive debut for the Black Stars and urged him to maintain his form.

Asare made a remarkable start to his national team career, recording clean sheets in Ghana’s 5-0 win over Chad and 3-0 win over Madagascar.

Manso, currently the head coach of Bibiani Goldstars, advised Asare to keep his momentum going, especially with Otto Addo confirming him as the first-choice goalkeeper.

“He’s doing well, but for me, he’s now entering the squad. Asare has gotten two good games. I hope he keeps his form and momentum before the next international game.”

Competition and Opportunity

Manso also highlighted the competitive nature of the national team, stating, “There are other good players who are waiting for the opportunity and grab it. So if you get such an opportunity and you don’t do the needful, you are likely to lose that spot.”

The former defender believes Asare has a bright future ahead, saying, “If he keeps up with his performance at the national team level and he is able to join the squad to the 2026 World Cup, his career will be very successful.” Asare is expected to be part of the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup in England.
