“Internet Disruptions Hamper Port Clearances, Says Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders Official”
Paulina Abrokwah, Chairperson of the Technical Committee at the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF), has highlighted the adverse effects of ongoing internet disruptions on the clearance process for goods at ports.
With Mobile Network Operations (MNOs) experiencing disruptions since Thursday, March 14, many Ghanaians have been left without internet access.
Speaking to Ahotor News, Abrokwah disclosed that the disruptions have led to a return to manual paper systems, causing significant delays in the clearance of goods at ports.
She emphasized, “It is taking a much slower pace because some of the lines have resorted to the manual… So, there is clearance going on, but it is at a much slower pace.”
