The Executive Director of the Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA), Theodora Williams Antwi, has strongly condemned the violence that has disrupted collation processes in several constituencies during the ongoing elections.
Speaking at a press briefing, she expressed deep concern over reports of clashes, intimidation, and destruction of property that have marred the democratic exercise.
Mrs. Antwi highlighted the critical role of peace and security in ensuring the integrity of the electoral process, emphasizing that such violence undermines public confidence in the system.
FOSDA has urged swift investigations into the incidents and recommended deploying more conflict prevention mechanisms in future elections.
The organization also called for stronger collaboration between civil society, the police, and electoral bodies to address the root causes of electoral violence and ensure peaceful resolutions to disputes.
