Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency, has been appointed as the National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Vanderpuye, who served as Minister of Youth and Sports and Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development under the John Mahama previous government, has assured Ghanaians of his competence to drive the DRIP initiative forward.
The DRIP initiative, launched in 2024, aims to empower Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to improve road networks across Ghana.
The program seeks to provide MMDAs with state-of-the-art equipment and technical training, enhancing their capacity for road maintenance and construction.
As National Coordinator, Vanderpuye will oversee the implementation of DRIP, which is expected to create approximately 4,480 direct jobs and provide extensive training in mechanical engineering, hydraulic systems, and electronic systems diagnosis.
The program promises to revolutionize road infrastructure, fostering economic empowerment, job creation, and improved quality of life for residents across Ghana.
