Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim, has officially switched his nationality to Benin and is now set to don the Squirrels’ jersey.
His impressive performances with FC Drita in Kosovo, including a league title win, caught the attention of Benin coach Gernot Rohr, who is eager to include him in the team.
Salifu’s decision to represent Benin is a testament to his desire to shine on the international stage. With Benin qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Salifu’s experience and creativity will be invaluable to the team.

Salifu joins a growing list of Ghana-born footballers representing other African nations, including Yaw Annor (Togo) and Daniel Sosah (Niger).
