Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Atta has announced his retirement from professional football, bringing an end to his playing career as he embarks on a new journey in coaching.
The former shot-stopper made the announcement in a statement shared on his official Facebook page, revealing that he is transitioning into a role as a goalkeepers coach.
Reflecting on his career, Atta expressed gratitude for his time on the pitch and excitement about the next phase of his football journey.
“After an unforgettable journey as a goalkeeper, I am proud to begin a new chapter as a Goalkeepers Coach. From making saves to developing future stars, the passion for the game continues. The journey goes on,” he wrote.
Atta enjoyed a memorable spell with Hearts of Oak, where he established himself as one of the club’s reliable goalkeepers. His performances earned him admiration from the Phobian faithful during his time at the Accra-based club.
