Former Hearts of Oak Board Member Frank Nelson Optimistic About Club’s Chances of Winning 2024/25 Ghana Premier League Title

Despite Hearts of Oak’s recent struggles in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, former board member Frank Nelson remains confident that the club can still clinch the title.

The Phobian Club has endured a porous second round, failing to secure a win in their last three games, which has left them in 5th position on the league log with 37 points.

Nelson emphasized that while the club’s current position is not ideal, they are still within reach of the top spot.

He urged the club hierarchy to provide head coach Aboubakar Ouattara with the necessary support and motivation to drive the team forward.

“I believe we should provide the coach with encouragement to keep him motivated,” Nelson told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

“He has a lot of incentive in terms of income, but there are other things we call motivation, such as how the supporters surround him, how they support the players, how he sees the affection they have for the players, and so on.”

Nelson stressed that all hope is not lost, citing the relatively small point difference between Hearts of Oak and the top teams.

“5-6 points difference is only 2 games if achievable,” he noted. “So I believe that Accra Hearts of Oak still has the possibility to win, but we need to work hard.”

Hearts of Oak will return to action today when they host Nations FC in an outstanding Matchday 21 game at the Tuba Astroturf.

The match presents an opportunity for the team to regain momentum and climb the league standings.
