Former chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Alhaji Braimah Raji has called on the president of the Ghana Football Association to initiate the culture of unifying all those who matter in the football ecosystem to drive efforts towards achieving collective goals.
He was responding to questions about the Kurt Okraku-led administration which started in 2019 on Asempa FM on Monday morning. He expressed that the FA has not been bad been under the Kurt Okraku.
“I don’t believe that Kurt Okraku’s administration has been bad and football has collapsed under his administration,” he said.
“The only challenge is the poor performance of the Black Stars. He has not been bad as GFA president,” he added.
Alhaji Raji who served as GHALCA boss between 2012 and 2016 however called Kurt Okraku to instill unity among people within the football space as it could go down to have a good omen on the Black Stars performance.
“If we want to qualify to the World Cup the FA president doesn’t have any choice than to keep all of us together and he must initiate it. It’s possible”, he shared
“Our qualification to the World Cup is doable depending on how the FA president will receive this my message. It’s very important. Sometimes unity breaks bounds”,he said.
“You will be surprised that after getting ourselves United the performance of the Black Stars could turn out to another positive thing, Yes! I am telling you,” he emphasized.
Under the tenure of the current led GFA, the senior national team, the Black Stars especially has witnessed little success.
Ghana suffered back-to-back group phase exits at the 2021 and 2023 AFCON in Cameroon and Ivory Coast respectively for the first time under Kurt Okraku’s led administration.
At the World Cup in Qatar, the Black Stars also suffered a group exit.
