A concrete bridge constructed few months ago linking Nkwanta and some adjoining communities was destroyed on Sunday morning after heavy downpour throughout Saturday night.
The concrete bridge replaces a steel one constructed on the Dichebu river but was broken down on two occasions.
After several appeals, the residents in collaboration with Gateway radio constructed the concrete bridge as temporal measure.
The destruction has caused a lot of inconveniences to both pedestrians and car owners especially heavy-duty trucks which transport goods from the farming communities.
However, the assembly has since reopened the broken steel bridge for pedestrians and small cars.
The broken bridge has been cordoned off.
Some residents in an interview expressed their disappointment in the Assembly and called on the President and higher authorities to come to their aid.
