#Fixthecountry protestors still can’t hit the streets despite SC ruling but conveners question the posture of the police

The Ghana police service has called the general public to disregard the calls by the #fixthecountry conveners to demonstrate following the Supreme court ruling, nullifying the high court injunction on the earlier planned demonstration.

The Supreme court in its ruling said, the high court exceeded its jurisdiction when he gave the indefinite order restricting the applicants from demonstrating.

The ruling was met with joy with social media publication suggesting a go-ahead for the protest, but according to the PRO of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, DSP Afia Tenge, all the suggestions are false.

However, in his reaction, one of the #fixthecountry convenors, Oliver Vormawor said the group has at no point called on the public to demonstrate without following legal procedures and wonders why the police seem to be militant against freedom to demonstrate,
