
Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has emphasized the critical need for expert input in managing Ghana’s economy to ensure sustainable growth and stability.
Speaking on the first day of the National Economic Dialogue at the Accra International Conference Center, Dr. Forson highlighted the significance of setting aside political and ideological differences when national duty calls.
He described the dialogue as a vital platform for collective problem-solving, stressing that Ghana’s economic challenges require a unified approach guided by sound expertise.

Audio PlayerDr. Forson also addressed the roots of the country’s economic struggles, asserting that the 2022 macroeconomic crisis was not solely caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, the Ghanaian economy was already in a dire state long before the pandemic struck.
He pointed out that structural weaknesses and poor economic management in the years leading up to 2020 had significantly contributed to the crisis.
