Filling station owners decry GHc2, GHc5 and GHc10 purchase of fuel by drivers’ – Ahotor News.

A painstaking investigations conducted by AHOTOR NEWS desk and its online wing portal has it that, a section of filling stations operators within the greater Accra region, are bemoaning low sales as a result of the scanty purchases of petrol as well as other petroleum products by car owners at the bumps.

Ahotor Newsroom can authoritatively states that, the practice of drivers , especially commercial transport operatives: Such as Taxi, and Trotro drivers’ and in most cases private car owners buying fuel in smaller quantum to fill their tanks has become very endemic and common at areas in and around the central business district in Accra, parts of Ashaiman, and Kaneshie respectively.

When the news team sought to established the credibility and veracity of the investigation from some fuel attendants, they declined to comment and have since remained tight – lipped, pending the tacit directives by their superiors.

However, a private – saloon car owner (name withheld) who gave his exposition on the issue on the condition of anonymity, corroborated the story and maintained that he has once been in consonant with similar situation under an improvised circumstance but had since despised such meager purchases of fuel at the station.

It’s however unclear if these fuel stations make super normal profits or even break- even to reconcile their operational cost in its efficient sense.

Subsequently the situation gives a gloomy spectacle of what to expect if the trend continues in its infinitum with many preying the public to desist from such behavioral myth.
