Fave Reveals How ‘Kante’ Went From Rejection to Global Hit With Davido

Nigerian singer Fave has opened up about the unexpected journey of her hit song “Kante,” revealing that three different artistes initially turned the track down before Nigerian superstar Davido helped turn it into a global success.

According to Fave, she had shared the song with three artistes, but none of them connected with it or showed interest in recording it.
The singer said the situation changed when Davido reached out to her and requested some songs.

“I sent my song ‘Kante’ to three different artistes, but they said they didn’t like it.”
Fave explained that when Davido contacted her, she sent him four songs to choose from. To her surprise, the Afrobeats superstar selected “Kante.”

The song subsequently became a major success, gaining widespread attention and introducing the track to audiences beyond Nigeria.

Fave reflected on the experience as an example of how a song that may not immediately appeal to some people can eventually find the right artist and audience.

“When Davido hit me up, I sent him four songs,s and he picked ‘Kante.’ And it became a global hit.”
The revelation has given fans another perspective on the making of one of Fave’snotable collaborations with Davido, while highlighting the unpredictable nature of the music business, where rejection does not necessarily determine a song’s eventual success.
