Ghanaian Afrobeat artist Fancy Gadam recently expressed his dismay at only receiving GH₵374 in royalties from the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).
He mentioned that this small amount reflects a lack of regard for the members of the organization. Fancy Gadam also raised concern for veteran artists who heavily rely on royalties from their work, emphasizing that such minimal payments are unfair to artists in Ghana.
He questioned the basis for the meager sum and highlighted his significant contributions to the music industry.
Additionally, he pointed out his confusion regarding GHAMRO’s criteria for determining these payments and expressed uncertainty about the specific period covered by the payment.
