Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has had enough of the constant pressure to settle down. In a fiery tweet posted on May 14, 2025, the outspoken artist made it crystal clear that he’s tired of being hounded with the age-old question: “When are you getting married?”
Ventilating his frustration on X (formerly Twitter), Falz wrote:
“Any small thing, ‘when are you getting married?’ Can everybody kindly fokofff?”
The tweet quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions. While many laughed at his brutally honest response, others echoed his sentiment, calling out the intrusive culture of pressuring people—especially celebrities—into marriage.
Comments poured in:
“The pressure go reach everybody!”
“It’s appalling. People want you to be miserable like them.”
“Not everyone is going to marry. Let it rest, please.”
Falz’s bold post came shortly after another headline-making moment where he controversially claimed “fornication is not a sin,” a statement that ignited a fierce online debate.
One sarcastic user replied to his marriage rant with:
“Ok, but can you at least tell us why you’re not married yet? Maybe you can inspire us to stay single and fornicate since it’s not a sin after all.”
Love him or hate him, Falz is clearly not one to follow the crowd—or bow to societal expectations.
