Former Ghanaian hip-life star turned evangelist, Yaw Siki, has ignited a fiery debate in the entertainment industry with his recent comments on Ahotor Mmre with Obaapa Janee.
During the interview, the one-time hitmaker,ho left secular music behind after a near-fatal accident in 2013, made a bold declaration:
“Every musician is either an agent for the Holy Spirit or the devil. You can’t be a secular musician and tell me you are using your songs to glorify God.”
Yaw Siki, now a gospel preacher, emphasized that music is a powerful spiritual force that shapes people’s lives, and musicians must be aware of the spirit behind their craft.
“Music carries a spirit. If it doesn’t glorify God, then it glorifies the devil—there’s no middle ground.
“Many artists believe they can be secular singers and still create music that glorifies God, but that’s merely self-deception,” he stated.
