Member of Parliament for Assin South constituency, John Ntim Fordjour is still wondering why some human beings lust after people of the same sex.
Such an emotional attraction, the MP who is a also a Reverend Minister said can only be motivated by demons from the pit of hell.
The Pastor cum politician said he has failed to comprehend why some people will choose to develop an attraction towards people of same sex when the devil is known to be attracted to women.
He made the comment while commenting on President Akufo-Addo stance on homosexuality in an interview on Al Jazeera.
The President has come under a barrage of attacks when he said Ghana’s position on gays could change if there is a groundswell of pressure for that to be done.
Religious groups, Civil Society Organizations and political parties are calling on President Akufo-Addo to clearly state Ghana’s stance to send a clear signal to the international community.
But Hon. on Tuesday stated unequivocally that President Akufo-Addo will never legalize homosexuality in Ghana.
He revealed that the President is among the numerous unseen hands supporting his campaign against the legalization of homosexuality in the country.
The Assin South MP said it is terrifying that in this point in our development as a society, there are still people fighting for same sex relationship to be legalized.
“The President has been behind my campaign against homosexuals in the country and there is no two ways about it…he recognizes that no single individuals can legalize homosexuality in Ghana because laws emanates from the people and that is exactly what he sought to communicate,” he stated.
Hon. Ntim Fordjour called on Ghanaians to be rest assured that Parliament would resist calls for the legalization of gays as the 275 members are in the august house to represent the views of Ghanaians and not promote their interests.
