EURO 2024: Germany Defeats Hungary 2-0 in Second Group Game
Germany secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Hungary in their second group stage match of Euro 2024, solidifying their qualification to the knockout stage of the competition.
Germany dominated possession, pressing Hungary with a high tempo and sharp passing. The breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when Bayern Munich sensational Jamal Musiala found the back of the net with a precise shot, capitalizing on a well-timed through ball from midfielder IIkay Gundogan. The early goal set the tone for the rest of the match, with Germany maintaining control and dictating play.
Hungary struggled to create clear-cut chances against a well-organized German defense. Despite their resilience and occasional counter-attacks, they were unable to penetrate Germany’s solid backline. The Germans doubled their lead in the 67th minute when IIkay Gundogan scored from a well rehearsed tactical counter attack.
